The 7th batch students of the Maritime Safety and Security Policy Program (MSP) visited to Minister Saito of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism on Monday, September 5, 2022, in the presence of Commandant Ishii of the Japan Coast Guard.

During the courtesy call, the representative of the students greeted and words of encouragement from Minister Saito was given, and a commemorative photo was taken.

The students said, “We were able to learn a lot of expertise from the experienced professors. In addition, the tours of operations and facilities were very interesting. We also got a chance to see the nature and historical buildings in Japan, and we would like to thank everyone involved. We will apply the expertise we deepened in this program to our organizations in home countries."

Minister Saito gave words of encouragement, "I am delighted to hear that we have met again since last December and that you are scheduled to receive your master's degree. I am sure that it must have been very difficult for you to live and study in a place where the environment and customs are different from those of your home countries and also under the COVID-19 pandemic. I am convinced that the experience of overcoming these hardships together with classmates under the common understanding of 'strengthening and stabilizing the maritime order based on the rule of law' has created a bond that will be an asset for a lifetime. I hope that you will make the most of the experience and knowledge you have gained through this program and work towards the realization of a Free and Open Indo-Pacific."
