Opening Ceremony of Maritime Safety and Security Policy Program


 Opening Ceremony of Maritime Safety and Security Policy Program (MSP) was held at the National Graduate Institute For Policy Studies (GRIPS) in Tokyo October 1st ,2015, attended with Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Akihiro Ohta, Commandant of the Japan Coast Guard (JCG) Yuji Sato, President of GRIPS Takashi Shiraishi, Chairman of the Nippon Foundation, Yohei Sasakawa, Vice president of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Hideaki Domichi and ambassadors to Japan of relevant countries.
 The MSP is collaborative program designed and administrated jointly by GRIPS and JCG. Junior Coast Guard Officers from different parts of Asia will study at GRIPS in Tokyo and at Japan Coast Guard Academy (JCGA) in Kure,Hiroshima.
 This program is the first Master’s program for Maritime Security and Safety Policy in the world.
 The number of Students of MSP is 10 in total from Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippine, Vietnam and Japan. After enrolling in MSP, they will study at GRIPS from October to March, then will transfer to Hiroshima in April and will study at JCGA until August.
