The 8th MSP program started in October 2022, and the students are taking classes at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS).

During the courtesy call, the students introduced themselves and the encouragement from Commandant Ishii was given.  Lastly commemorative photos were taken.

Commandant Ishi gave these words of encouragements, " This is a very important program to nurture future leaders with the aim of strengthening and stabilizing a maritime order governed not by force but by rule of law. I hope that you will develop into outstanding leaders who will be responsible for the future of the coast guard agencies in your respective countries. "

With the encouragement from the Commandant, the 8th batch students will learn advanced practical and applied knowledge about Maritime Safety and Security Policy at GRIPS and the Japan Coast Guard Academy for one year.  They will strive to build camaraderie and a strong human network through living together.
