Benefits to the cadets

Monthly salaries as well as term end and service allowances, so-called bonuses, are paid.

Cadets are given the standing of an official of the Japan Coast Guard and fringe benefits such as medical insurance, public pension, etc. as a member of the cooperative for national public officials.

Neither school tuition nor entrance fees are charged. Only text books and food expenses are borne by the cadets, which can be sufficiently covered by the monthly salary.

Uniforms and bedding are provided.
