 ○Final Presentation of Policy Paper(July 7)

The Final presentation of our policy paper was held on July 7. The policy paper is equivalent to a master’s thesis, and since the beginning of this program, we have been researching individual topics selected by each student for about ten months. We have progressed in our research while taking advice from the professors in the National Gratitude Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) and the Japan Coast Guard Academy (JCGA). In order to write a policy paper, there are many requirements, such as: the understanding and interpretation of an entire research field, identifying problems, and making logical assertions from objective data. The skills and knowledge learned through this program can be applied to many situations, especially leadership, which will be required in the future.
After the presentation, a Tanabata party was held, which was hosted by the JCGA. The origin of Tanabata, which I was struggling to explain to foreign students, was explained by academy students in an easy and funny way. There was some relief from the tension of the final presentation, and we enjoyed talking with the faculty, staff and students of JCGA. It was a very memorable day for all of us.
We only have two months left in this program, but I would like to further deepen our friendship and make strong ties that will last into the future.
